The front strut tower dust caps on a BMW E46 are small plastic covers that press into the top of each strut mount in the engine bay. They keep water, dust and leaves away from the top mount nut. After twenty-plus years of heat cycles most of them are brittle: they crack when someone opens them during a service, the snap lip breaks off, or one simply goes missing at a garage.

A new cap has to be imported, which in Thailand usually means waiting one to three weeks for a part that costs very little. We print a replacement for BMW E46 locally, so the car is not left with an open strut top in the rainy season.

How we make it

We model the cap ourselves from measurements, so we do not copy anyone's design. If you still have an old cap (even a cracked one), send us a photo with a ruler next to it, or drop it off and we measure the diameter and lip. The cap is printed as a plain disc with a press-fit lip. It has no BMW roundel, "M" badge or other logos; this is an aftermarket part compatible with E46 strut towers, not made or endorsed by BMW. Custom text or your own design on top is possible.

Material

PETG in black holds its shape in a hot engine bay much better than PLA and does not mind water. We print a test cap first and adjust the fit if it is too tight or too loose.

Price and turnaround

350 THB per pair; garage batches of 10+ are cheaper per piece. Most orders are ready in 1–2 days after the size is confirmed, then delivered by Grab in Phuket or by courier anywhere in Thailand.
